Does anyone know of a generic propagation program that can be used on any of the databases?

bobbyg, what do you mean by "propagation". Can you please explain a bit more what you are looking to do?

If you are familiar with zencart, there is a program to take a cvs file and insert or update or delete products in the database.

When I did systems design on large frame under cobol I designed a program like that but it was extremely flexible by substituting parameters with field names and could handle variable number of fields.

A program like this could be used on any database, not just an ecommerce database.

Search on mysql import. There are ways to import text files (and probably Excel type files too) into mysql. Google 'em.

Import won't do it, otherwise I would just use my phpmysql.
