Is the journal the same as a personal weblog (blog)? Is it a decent module? Do all members get their own journal?

Thanks

I changed all the wording for the Journal to be Prop Book Round Table Log. We make theatrical props and make lots of notes, some private some public. So it worked for us.

Many of the modules I use in different fashion just by changing the language files so it fits what I need Smile

I'm working on updating the Journal mod (Raven nominated me I think). Its really bad though at least as far as I've gotten was bad. If more people actually used it I'm sure we'd have heard about more problems with it by now.

It appears that the Journal module is plagued with exploits. I will not publish them but I recommend that you NOT use this module until it is either rewritten or patched.

Well that didn't have a lot of information :p Mr. Green

Hope sixonetonoffun does the patch soon .... I like the journal mod Wink

Ok this might be rushing it but.. if we may have a few victims er I mean testers.
Journal V2.0 PHPNuke7.3

There are some changes for install see readme (especially if you have GT'd the Journal mod). No database changes.

If a couple people test it and find nothing evil I'll see if we can get it out and work on backwards versions. If you think it sucks say so and maybe we can make it better.

Change Log:
Added more variable checking!
Added stronger user checking!
Added Admin Edit/Delete Journals feature!
Added Admin delete Comments feature!
Added htmlArea2 visual mode wysiwyg editor! [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
Added some missing english language defines.
New Image Pack! Thanks to Ganja!!!

Hey GanjaUK your images did more for it then I did! The original ones sucked so bad!!!

If you do download this be sure to download it again if/when we post it as a news release because I'm still finding more bad variables (13 since the original post today) and am uploading the changes on the fly.

I'm sure it's my computer ... I'm unfortunately on Windows OS. Just like downloading from sites (this one and others) ... sometimes I can ... sometimes I can't. Even with a fresh OS install. It's annoying but has made me a patient person Smile

You can try this one on later versions: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

I think there will be a future update to the module in phpnuke V? But for now this should be somewhat better. There have been a couple of bug fixes applied since its initial release.

I've deactivated it on my site when I read about the exploits, so I'll sit back and wait until the fixed version is out for v7.0.

For what it's worth only 2 of my members used it and then only because they didnt know what it was for and were just playing. They're easily amused. lol
