I am thinking of creating an application for my kids swim team. Track swimmers, times, events, team records.

I could even do registration or even expand into a Swim Meet Manager.

Events such as

- 25 meter backstoke
- 25 meter freestyle

Each swimmer would have to be assigned a class such as "Boys 9-10" or "Girls 6 and Under"

Don't know if I should go standalone or do another module.

Any ideas are welcome.

Well, by using your current setup you pretty much take care of registration and groups (if you have a group module installed like NSN Groups). Writing the rest would not be that difficult. For stand alone you might be able to find another open source project already built that would be similar and you could just modify.
