Blocking users

I seem to be getting alot of emails from users saying they are blocked from the site. The all have one thing in common, they are using aol email addresses. Is there something I need to change for aol??

I had this happen too.

I added the line:

$bypassNukeSentinelInvalidIPCheck = true;

to my config.php to stop that. Be aware that will disable invalid IP checking. But since I was not interested in that it didn't matter to me.

Others will say you will have to update your IP2C tables. I did, but it didn't help. I suspect there is something about AOL's proxy servers that trip up Sentinel or something.

In particular area this should be added to in the file??

I just put it below the other configuration items...I don't have the file in front of me but I don't think it matters.

Yep, turn it off. The Invalid IP check is garbage and causes more problems than it's really worth. ...IMO Smile

Sorry but 40+ threads of valid IP's getting blocked by this "feature" speaks for itself. It also should have been built with an on/off switch in the Admin panel like the proxy blocker.
