Aha! I think you're onto something!

I haven't had one person, except you, tell me it didn't work for them (that IS what you're saying, right?). Maybe it's browser related, or something. Are you running XP SP2 by any chance? I run Firefox/W2K. I tested it with IE/W2K and Mozilla/W2K also. They all work...

Hrm... I think I'll add some tables to the Bandwidthmeter sql db to track browser and OS useage ...

Vin,

When I try it on your site, the popup window displays and then closes. I'm wondering if the popup blocker is interferring.

Yeah, that might be it...

It works fine with the popup blocker in Google Toolbar, at work. My wife uses Bayden PopupPopper, and it asks if it's okay to run the popup. And, it works with the Firefox popup blocker. I suppose it depends on the blocker. There are a zillion of them out there. However, what you said makes perfect sense!

Hrm... maybe I'll have to call it with a 'target' tag instead... Wink

Windows XP SP2 has a fairly robust 'popup blocker' built into it. This little 'sucker' has been a major irritation to some ppl. Nothing seems to get past it. You might try playing around with the settings and see if that helps...

Raven or Hitwalker,

Could you try the script again?

I've been tweaking it, and added a DOM event handler to the top link in the center block, for testing purposes.

I can't reproduce the problem[s] you guys are having. The closest I can come to making it fail is by using IE 5.0 with the scripting turned off...

Well i feel pretty stupid but a few days i found out after a lot of searching the whole stuff is caused by....."norton internet security 2005"
Yeah stupid huh....
But i still have my doubts about a few things.
A technician of norton called me about this problem..
So i directed him to vindsl website and let him try the speed script..
So then he knew what the problem was and he understands it also......lol
Al i said it to my opinion it has to do with security....
So we both went step by step disabeling functions but that didnt help..
BUT when i disabled norton security (the 5 minute function) all worked again !
YES...the nuke backup and the speedmeter worked...
So finding it out this way real...ssss
So you all know what the heck was wrong....

But to bad the guy couldnt help me how to make it work....
something is preventing this to work..... Sad

Norton has become a real bloated POS I think. Pretty much made a 1800.00 laptop useless for me. Reformat don't install NIS and all is well again. Following VinDSL's recomendation I am using Avast for AV and using my personal favorite Sygate for a soft firewall. I wonder if I can get my money back from Symantec?

Okay, I threw a distro together. I don't usually do things this fast, so I might have overlooked something. Wink

This is a rough beta. I didn't have time to do the public page yet.

Anyway, give it a whirl! If everything looks okay, other than the kludgey user interface, let me know. I'll finish it up, and put it in my download section. A lot of ppl are interested in this proggie!

<<deleted>>

Gotta run! BBL...

Wouldn't you know it? LoL! This happens every time I get in a hurry! Bang Head

I noticed a mistake in a last-minute modification I made, so I took the file down. I'll fix it and put it back up in a few hours...

Heh! Yeah, this is a fun script! Thanks for pointing it out... Very Happy

I'm gonna have to work on the user's page a little more. I see Firefox and IE handle H-tags differently (<h1><h2><h3> etc.). Still looks kludgey! I'll use CSS instead.

I'll work on that later today, after I've had a little sleep.

I was 'vegging-out' today, and did a LOT of tweaking on this module - too many things to list here...

Here's the latest version:

Here's the 'new' demo:

I think this module is pretty much 'a wrap'. I'll put it on one of my test sites, using a default Nuke install, and make sure the colors match, and so forth. Other than that, I think it's done! Wink

BTW, you can see the user page at the link above. Here's the admin page now...
