MySQL 4.x and MySQL 5 both on same server

Hi there,

We are developing web based applications for our clients. We have needed to upgrade the server so that we can run MySQL 4.x and MySQL 5 both on same server.

We need direction so that we can run MySQL 4.x and MySQL5 together on same server, so some sites would be work in MySQL 4.x and some of them will work in MySQL 5

Expecting support to achieve this.

I don't know if that will even work. I do know that you'd have to have PHP compiled with MySQL support. How it will handle two versions, you may need to have them on two different ports.

The only reference I see is this [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
Not sure how helpfuly that is, esp if you aren't using Windows
