I only use windoze because my employer requires it for external access VPN. Otherwise I would probably still be using OS/2 or Linux.

Somehow I can't picture the beverly hillbillies descending into the Los Angeles valley with the freeways powered by computerized spacing between the cars and no radar or magnetic sensors on the 39 Plymouth flatbed.

Personally, I prefer my 70 dodge power wagon over the computerized cars my wife loves.

Interesting sig. Correlated to "Every man's work shall be made manifest ...", perhaps?

I like (use) both Windows and Linux. Apart from the obvious benefit of open source, I think they both have their own weakness and strengths.
I just think windows (microsoft) take an unfair pounding. I find that a lot of the people doing the pounding are using windows themselves.

I just noticed raven that this looks like I'm having a go at you. I'm not, honest.

heh.

I am using Windows XP. But I have VMWARE booted into SuSE 9. Not all network troubleshooting tools are available on Linux yet.

At home I'm using Windows XP because of the gaming. I haven't played around with....with....Transgaming? DOH - forgot the company name.

But good question. Smile

I started computing in 1969. Before windoze. Seen and tried most OS's. My distaste for MS is from a technicalogical standpoint as well as some principles. MS has never learned the art of multitasking. It still depends on cooperative multitasking which means my app has to allow the cpu to have access. It cannot hold a candle to OS/2 or *nix when it comes to multitasking. And that's all I have to say about it Wink

I wish I had my 1.3 OS/2 books. There is a quote from Bill Gates in it - about how his OS is awesome, etc. (when they were both developing OS/2).

Then shortly afterwards here comes Windows 3.1.

DOH!

A bit like IBM when they said they were not interested in the 'home' computer market as their market analysis team had shown a maximum market of 25 units - hmm.
