Does anyone know of any phpnuke sites that haved turned their journal section into a blog section? I downloaded Crossnuke Blog 2.0 CMS, but I haven't seen it on any phpnuke sites.

I want something that can be public or private with a set-up like Xanga (if possible).

nukeblog ... great idea! It's been tried with NukeBlog 1 and it didn't fly due to the author getting fedup with some idiots in the nuke community. Nukeblog2, last I heard (and that was eons ago), is available to any developer who wants to give it a go.

Personally ... I'd like to see "Nuke Date/Blog " ... a combination of Friendfinder and Nukeblog2. Smile

The folks over at Nukekorea are porting the phpbb inflammablog add on and it is worth checking out. I ported 90% of it a while back but discontinued the project when I got a job. I ended up losing my files to a corrupt hardrive and had planned to redo the project but saw that they had also started porting it. *LOL* So I will wait with bells on. It is a really awesome blog tool.

I checked it out a couple of weeks ago and then again yesterday ... but it looks stalled to me. The workboard project says it's 98% complete and the estimated finish date was back in December. I asked the admin for an update, but haven't heard back ... according to his blog he is mostly angry and fed up with life. There is something on the home page about a nuke version including the blog mod available to club members ... I have no idea what that's about.

Hi, there.
I got a mail from charmquark, who is a nuker in British Columbia, CA. And I stopped by here to see what was going on in RavenPHPScripts forum as he mentioned.

You guys got the wrong infos.
How does this happen?
Please don't guess what was going on.

OK. This is what were achived.
1) I and other dev. members kicked off Inflam Blog even thoug I completely finished porint that blog mod. We compared five blogs for phpnuke. That's totally 100% completion but I kicked it off to a trash can.
2) Hyperion, who is the author of The Blog MOD, and I agreed with that I will make it be in public for non-commercial purposes and non-commercial sites.
3) Another candidates we experimentally probed is wpblog (this is sucks).

Finally, we selected The Blog MOD porting, which is completely done.

Now it's under final test in two types: 1) Nuke Korea Premium Releases version & 2) normal phpnuke.

Once again, porting the blog mod was completed and is in final test phases to be a RC1. I don't know what made you guys guess incorrectly based on what wrong information...

Charmquark said, one of you, very kind and good folks informed him of my porting job. I told you my porting will follow GPL 2.0 extension and I will hit a bell to get it. As usual, some test members are reporting minor bugs in NukeKorea site forums. Why don't you guys look at to get what is going out there?

Anyhow, thank your for you guy's interests.

Wonder what happened to nukekorea? I went to check the status yesterday and the site was throwing up sql errors and today it seems to be gone. Sad Anyone know what happened?

I saw the post you gusy are talking about, and I can't reach nukekorea either. I would rather have something built for phpnuke over the CMS blog. (If that makes any sense?) Any other options?

Maybe he could send you what he has done to speed up the process...

What about the blogs in Fantastico (CPanel)? Would it make sense for me to delete the Journal module and install a blog from their (for the time being)? I have the space and the database, but I would need a blog that my members could use...

I've got the Weblog from NukeKorea working on my site and so far it seems to be working really well. A couple of minor problems, but they should be fixed on the next release in a couple of days.

You can see the them here:

That is nice. Thanks for letting me have a preview. I downloaded the blog package for regular PHP-Nuke from NukeKorea.net, but I am wondering how much of the .txt file I have to do manually. Aren't the tables created when upload .sql file to my main database?

Yea, they are created with the sql file.

Okay, I think I have everything updated. (Took a lot more than the 15 minutes it said.) I don't see any errors. I have it turned on from the admin panel, but how do I begin blogging?

Go to the forum admin and make sure you check the blog preferences. If I remember right, the default means you have to have a Usergroup set up that allows blog, and then be a member of the group to blog.

You can turn that off and on in the admin configuration.

Set up your blog template in the forum admin. It is pretty easy, the "Transparent" theme will match any theme

From there, go to the blog link in the forums and click on Weblog Config. This will set up your blog with it's name and some basic preferences and start you on your blogging path.

In regards to this mod, if any of you are using it and want some of my patches that correct some of the errors in the current release or if you want my last few blogs block for it just let me know. I have somewhat fixed the broken RSS, the incorrect link for viewing the blog owner (currently points to edit YOUR profile instead of the viewingthe blog owner profile) and a few others.

I can send you the files I have corrected.

I will PM you the link. (I want to avoid hackers. I have trouble upgrading above 7.3.)

You can send me those files, too. buildingmaster01 [at] gmail [dot] com

Ok, buildingmaster01, I don't even see a link for the blog. I joined the Bloggers usergroup, so when I get approval I will look for the blog link.

Ok, I successfully created a blog for myself. For some reason you don't have the links to the blog in the default theme. The other themes show the blog links, but the default theme doesn't.

Anywhere you have the file a file in this directory:

templates/subSilver

you may also have to put it in the themes/Your_Theme/forums template. I only have one theme installed, so it wasn't a problem. Some themes give an error for the following:

Code:
Template->make_filename(): Error - file modules/Forums/templates/subSilver/../../../modules/Forums/weblogs/templates/Transparent/weblog_header.htm does not exist

which looks like you haven't installed the blog to all the themes. Just a guess anyhow. Any expert should feel free to jump in.....

So what is the exact fix? I am glad you saw what I was talking about. (Thought I was going crazy there. Laughing)

With all those themes, you will have to install the blog specifically for each theme. The default theme (fiapple) will have to have a modification to one of the tpl files so the links will show up.

The rest of them look like they have the links. You may want to check with the NukeKorea site. The guy who ported it is there and he is a lot better at these problems than I am.

It is supposed to be for 7.5 plus. I have modified (and very nearly reported) it for 6.9 since that is what I use. I tried my files on a test 7.5 site and the results were a bit odd so I most likely won't be releasing my modded version. I understand that Toolbox is nearing a bug fix release that will contain most of my fixes, his fixes for the 7.5+ version as well as my last few blogs block and a couple of new blocks he created soon
