Help! My hosting account was suspended!

here is my dillemma:

I find that my hosting account was suspended because I crashed their dual xeon 2.8ht server... which i think is bogus but here is what they told me:

There were about 45 or more of those in mysqladmin processlist and each of them exceeding 30 secs causing the server to crash. This is not acceptable on shared environment and thus as per TOS [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] we had to take this action and suspend the site.

My site has had quite a lot of traffic lately, averaging nearly 100 people on at any given time, many of them crawlers.

Please tell me what you think about this, and if there is any problem with that volume of sql requests.

Well, as a host myself, I can't see why they would be exceeding anything unless your host restricts the number of connections in a given period. I do not and I have a dual xeon with hyperthreading. I would demand that you host explain why a simple query like that would cause the mysql server to hang.

Once any site starts to get busy, I always would recommend to move to a dedicated server. Find some ways to generate revenue by adding some adds or donation section. That is the best way to go.
