splash screen

hi guys wonder if you could give me some info here...

I have made an html splash screen everything seems good and when i do a direct link the my site and include the html file i get my splash screen come up... how when i just put my url in it brings up the site and by passes my splash screen...

any ideas what i am doing wrong?

sorry links are as follows:

Your server is probably configured to serve index.php pages over index.html pages. There are apache directives that control that. (I am assuming you are using apache).
