[Thu Feb 21 10:04:16 2008] [error] [client x.x.x.x] PHP Warning: ./cache/1c6a277752ad4c61400a036078f52d8b.spc is not writeable in /.../includes/SimplePie/simplepie.inc on line 1783, referer: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

I'm seeing a lot of these. Is the cache directory supposed to be writeable for SimplePie? I didn't even think I was using SimplePie, lol.

Yes, the cache directory should be writeable. SimplePie is used by nukePIE, which replaced the old PHP-Nuke block RSS reader. We were planning to make a check part of the installation, but did not. We should update the documentation, and possibly include in the updated installer.

Thanks, that should cut down my error logs significantly.

Yes, this page in the HowToInstall manual needs to have this documented...

Will do - I thought this would be included in the installation - hopefully soon.

Once Raven has the new installer in place, it could be handled there. But, need to also consider the upgraders and migraters... somehow they need to know too.
