Hello all,
I installed Raven Nuke 7.6 2.02.02. When I post news it does not format it. I have to add the code myself. Other wise it put everything in one paragraph.

Thanks
Lonk

I am not sure what you mean. How can i check this? I followed all the directions in the howtoinstall folder. The website is up and running. everything but the news seems to be working fine. I can post to the forums and it formats the text just not in the news post.

lonk, that is how PHP-Nuke works by default. The forums are phpBB, which was integrated into nuke, and they do behave slightly differently. Unless you use something like nukeWYSIWYG, you are left with formatting the HTML yourself.

i understand that. I have used phpnuke for years and never had to do anything special to get the news post to format. Are you telling me i need to install nukeWYSIWYG for raven nuke to format the news posts?

Or, enter the HTML in the stories by hand.

lonk, then you must have been using the later versions of PHP-Nuke that are less secure. Before 7.7, this is how it has always been. RavenNuke76 is PHP-Nuke 7.6 at its core. We chose to integrate RavenNuke with nukeWYSIWYG rather than expose everyone to the insecure method that FB employed with the editor in 7.7 and above.

i did a search for this on google and came up a website that say this

Please read the instructions carefully - nukeWYSIWYG requires code modifications! If you
have problems or need assistance, please post in the forums at [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] If you
are new to PHP programming, try RavenNuke, which includes nukeWYSIWYG and many other fine
enhancements: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Are they talking about a new version that is not out yet ?

No, they are not. RavenNuke76 2.02.02 comes with nukeWYSIWYG as an "Experimental Option". There are instructions on how to install it (very easy copy of files and minor edit). But without it installed, RavenNuke76 is just PHP-Nuke 7.6 and so it behaves no differently than if you had installed that version of PHP-Nuke fresh.

Version 2.10.00 of RavenNuke76 is coming, and it has the editor built right in. I.e., no longer "Experimental". However, it is still the same editor that was provided with the 2.02.02 Distro.
