issue adding topics images

I am trying to change images for my topics and am having no luck. I have uploaded the images to both the main images/topics folder as well as the theme/images/topics folder and I still cannot get them to even show up in the drop down menu to assign them to a particular topic. I have uploaded them as jpg.

That code is in need of updating as I have experienced issues as well. Haven't had time to test it, but make sure your image file has a lowercase extension and for good measure only use A-Z in the filename, i.e.

myfile.jpg

not

my_file.JPG

Check the images-folder of your theme, maybe you have there also an folder with the name topics. If the theme have own topic-images, then you must replace the images in your theme or delete/rename the topics-folder.
