Hello,

I just downloaded the Welcome PM mod from here for my Your_Account module. I have it installed and it works fine. The only problem I'm having is that the PM is not showing up as a new PM, but a read one. Is there anything that can be done so that the PM appears as new to new members of my site?

I am running nuke 7.8 patched. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Chatserv and I worked on that for quite a while and I thought that was fixed. I will add it to my list of things to do (in my spare time, of course killing me )

Thank you for replying. I understand. You have a ton of stuff going on. worship Just to clarify, on the forum where it shows if you have messages, it shows up. But once you open your private messages it appears as being read. It also appears as read in the user info panel on the index of nuke.

I'm actually having a problem with this, but mine is a bit different.

My PM is being sent, shows up as a new message, but then it's not in any folder at all. Can't find it. And after you go to the folder, it shows up as a "read" PM, but still no sign of it anywhere.

It is showing up in my databases (with lots of <br> showing up in it) so it's out there...just can't get it to show in the PM box.

I am running 7.6 patched to 2.9.

And just when you can get to it. You guys totally ROCK!!

Thanks
Rose

I know, I know, I know <sigh>. Both Chatserv and I worked on this issue originally and no matter what we try it shows up as read. However, it should still be showing up, but as read. It's on the list of things that need fixing and will be gotten to eventually Wink

Ah, it's all good. No big deal to me. Just trying to help debug it just a bit for ya!!

I'm going to go ahead and take it back out until it gets fixed, so my new people don't flood me with PM's saying "I have a pm but can't read it". LOL!!

Thanks!!!

So you're saying it shows up in their Inbox, as read, but if you click on it there is no message?

Nope, not showing up at all.

I'm going to send you a PM with the test account info, you can go look at it if you'd like.

Hello, I have the same mistake on phpnuke 7.6 patched 3.2... the PM is not viewable in My Account but I can see it in my database with Phpmyadmin.

I noticed a difference between the generated PM and the other PMs recorded in my database : in the "nuke_bbprivmsgs_text " table, the "privmsgs_bbcode_uid" field is equal to 0 for the welcome PM, unlike the other Pms...

Hi,

I have found the solution : do not forget to replace the "Raven" username by yours in the language file !!!!

From the INSTALL documetation:

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
modules/Your_Account/language/lang-english.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
?>

#
#-----[ BEFORE, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
// START - Send PM On User Register
/* Change the text 'Raven' in define("_PRIVMSGS_FROM_USERNAME","Raven"); to the name of the user that you want the Welcome message PM to be FROM
*/

I have seen this happen for years. Definitely not a new problem and one that phpBB has never seemed to fix (or is the integration?). It just appears that no-one has had the time to look into it all these years (including me).
