Captcha not working

Sorry to jump in here kind of late, but wanted to reply to jjh221, I think, about the Downloads captcha. Standard PHP-Nuke Downloads module does NOT come with a captcha for the "Get It" function, so that is why you are not seeing a captcha there. It is only in the "Rate This Resource" where comments are being entered and is there to stop Comment Spam only. This will be the same within Web Links since these two modules are almost complete copies of each other (with minor tweaks).

Comment Spam and other forms of Form Spam was the focus, so make sure you are looking for the right things...

The gfx setting in config.php has NO impact to how the module spam captchas work. Those are strictly controlled through the rnconfig.php settings.

ah right... I didnt know that. Is the download with captcha a downloadable mod?

I clicked on one of my links as a anonymous user and clicked on 'Rate Resource' which went through without captcha coming up.

You should have also noticed that with anonymous user, there is no comments field; therefore, no captcha needed. Wink

Regarding your question about a download mod, the answer is no. There are other download replacement modules that already do this. You may want to try:

ah ok thanks montego the "Get It" function is what i was missing to understand. Thanks.
