I noticed when I switch captcha to setting: 2 (visitor and registered) for my links and downloads it doesn't work. I don't see it asking for security code anywhere. Anyone else noticed this?

There are some extra switches in the rnconfig.php file which control which modules the captcha is used for. Check to make sure these are set accordingly.

This is what I've set on mine:

'Downloads' => 2,
'Feedback' => 1,
'News' => 1,
'Recommend_Us' => 1,
'Reviews' => 1,
'Submit_News' => 1,
'Surveys' => 1,
'Web_Links' => 1

When I logout and surf via Anonymous I do not see the captcha coming up for links, downloads etc.

Make sure you still aren't logged in as admin. I noticed this last night.

ozbutcher,

I notice you have removed all of the copyright notices that are to appear in the footer. This is in clear violation of the GPL. But even more important, imo, is the issue of professionalism. The copyrights are there for a reason and are protected by law under the GPL. Please consider this and restore the footer as origianlly intended.

Raven,

I haven't removed anything from the footer. Infact I even put a link to the site here as I know its a valuable resources to clans such as ours Sad

Attached is a screen shot I took right now to show you that all copyright information is intact in the admin center.

I think it may be theme related but I'm not sure so I better ask them first.

It is missing from the front page and I'm sure the theme is written like that. You should contact theme, find out how to fix it, and advise them that they are in violation of the GPL. Thank you for responding!

Already done... I'm sure they will get back to me very soon.

Which links do you mean? They all seem to be working for me.

Every link I click on in the Modules block returns a 404 error. Quicklinks, Articles, Community, etc.

xGSTQ,

I see that you tried to post a reply and NukeSentinel(tm) bounced it. I would like to reply, publicly, to a question you raised.

i might be wrong though, and there is no link back to phpnuke.org's here on your site either, is this a case of dont do as i do, do as i say or the kettle calling the pot black ?

There is no double standard as you have questioned. Nowhere in the GPL does it state that a link back is required. All the copyrights are intact although copyrights are more for show than legally binding. Trademarks (tm), on the other hand, are enforceable if you care to push it.

Since FB openly states that he will not support his releases, I don't feel that he deserves a link back.

FB also doesn't seem to understand the GPL very well. There are several places in the Nuke code where he (I assume it is him) says something like "YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE FOLLOWING CODE". Bzzzzt. If he released PHP-Nuke under the GPL then anyone can freely modify it in any way. Modifiers should still preserve his copyrights in the code but he cannot tell you what you can or cannot modify.

You should also display somewhere (if your program is interactive) the copyrights. A link back is not required.

I looked more into EDL and decided its to complex for my site. I like the original, its more smooth and simple.

Im having the same problem.

Not sure where this captcha is suppose to appear. Im lookign for a code verification before you can download. Does this captcha, for downloads, do this? If not where might I find something that will only add this.

Im not sure. My rnconfig.php is set correctly to 3 for downloads but there is no captcha showing(it is on). What page does this show on? nm just looked and found it. It seems as though its only for comments (i looked on ravennuke.com for this). After looking into it more, this is where it gets confusing.

My comments box to "Rate Resource" is not showing nor is my captcha. I tested it with allowing "anonymous" to post turned on and off in php-nuke admin preferences. I dont know if this would change it or not but it didnt.

Is the captcha for downloads tied into the comments box?

What I would like to have, is the captcha show in "Rate Recource" comments and when a user tries to download. Tell me if i confused anyone.

This way my downloads cant be linked. If the standard edition does not do this, can anyone point me into a simple addon or mod to the standards download.

I would still like to figure out my problem of the captcha not showing.

Are you still logged in as admin when you are looking for the captcha?

If you are log out and try again.

I've think I've put it back how its supposed to be. I edited the footer.php and added the code bit I found one of the themes that came with nuke.

I still have the problem with captcha, even when I set everything to: 2 in the rnconfig.php no security code comes up anywhere.

It has to be turned on in config.php
The rnconfig.php switches are to display CAPTCHA's in some extra modules but it still has to be turned on in config.php first.

Do you see the CAPTCHA on the front page of your site when members log in?
