Hello All,

I am kinda having the same trouble as above, although more serious. Please bare with me here, as I am a noob.

None of the bbcode nor the HTML code in the forums on my site are working. This problem does not seem to be isolated to any one account, and I have confirmed it on 3 accounts, to include 2 admin accounts.

I am running Raven distro 76 v 2.02.02 full and PHPBB 2.0.20
Yes I have checked the forum admin and both bbcode and html are enabled

The odd thing here for us is, you type out the html, IE:
<img src="sigs/yoursig.jpg"(>)
and all you see in the post is:
<img(>)

If you use the bbcode, everything looks ok, IE:
([)IMG]http://www.xtgamers.net/sigs/yoursig.jpg[/IMG]
but the image never shows up, and youo just see the full line of code??

Of course our website is

. Thanks in advance for any help anyone might be able to give. I really appreciate it. I am just really stuck right now. I will be happy to supply any more info needed.

**I did use the () to comment out the code included above for folks to see.

Hi 2cav,

Well I registered and posted on your forum (shame guest access wasn't turned on so I didn't have to waste time registering). As you can see from my post on your site it all appears to be correct for me.

There are two issue I think you are running into.
1. The link you supplied above isn't a valid link, hence nothing to display. It can't generate an image out of nothing. The [img] tags just tell the forum to put in the <img src= tag behind the scenes.
2. I think your are setting your profile signatures via the Your Account module. For them to work correctly in your forums you need to set them via your forums 'profile' section. This is important in that it adds a special '$sid' to the bbcode that make it work. Without this it, doesn't display.

Note: For forums you can click the 'Disable BBCode in this post' option when you post to automatically disable the bbcode and not have to resort to 'tricks' for it to not work.

Thanks for the quick reply. I also apoligize about the guest account. I didn't think of that when I was posting for help. note to self for the future. I did get one of the 2 files to work by changing the file name. It had a space in it. DUH to me. Still trying to contact 2nd user to veriy his settings for his sig block. Will respond again after test. Thanks again, I appreciate you taking a look for us.

Still buggy at best. html tags do not seem to be working at all, they juust show up with the other posted info. I have edited a few BBtags, and they worked, but have seen others fail, again you just see the entire line of code. please referance the last post in the following thread:

Well HTML has to be 'allowed' via your forum's configuration and then the HTML 'tags' have to be allowed as well. Be mindful and careful of what HTML tags you allow. For the most part you shouldn't really need too, as the bbcode perform most of the common commands.

Now for that person there are a few things to make sure.
1. Like I've said before make sure he is defining and saving his signature via the forum profile link (

) and not via Your Account.
2. I'm not sure if this will effect others viewing but make sure he hasn't maybe turned off the use of bbcode in his own account.

As I've registered I don't need guest access anymore, too late for me in that regards but thx.

My problem is that the flash isn't working in the signature box. It works within the post area, but when added to their forum profiles, it is just a text link of the link.

Any suggestions?
