I ran "fix" for a 1064 error in my forums. I could not set one user as admin. Now all permissions are missing.
Any suggestions?

There are two fixes, did you try both?

Yes, and that is when I got no permissions at all...no link to them within forum admin---for groups or users. Ran both fixes from nukeresources.
