Hello Raven.

I started using the Auto Activation feature on a website. I am wondering if the new user chooses an auto-generated password, can that password be displayed on the second or third rego page? Otherwise the user still has to wait for an email before they can logon.

I realise this is probably not possible if the password is not generated until the final step of the registration process.

Cheers,
Ron..

This is possible Smile - Are you still needing it?

It's not a necessity at all, Raven, I just thought I remembered seeing it somewhere - perhaps that's the way phpBB works?

I had the thought that it defeats the purpose of auto-activation if the new member chooses auto password generation because they still have to wait for an email.

What I am really waiting for (and this is not a hint to you because someone else is working on it already) is the ability to add extra fields at registration time such as alumni year for alumni sites. This is one mod that I am surprised has not surfaced before; perhaps it's too complex to integrate it into all the necessary modules etc.

Just some thoughts...

Cheers,

An alternative approach to the random password generation is to just disable it altogether Smile

I should try to find out how to do that without bothering you but is it a simple change?

Should be. Just remove the option from the form.

Thank you, Raven, it was easy. Really just a matter of making some changes in the YA language file.
