Adding a site admin?

I am trying to add a site admin and cant seem to get it to work. I am running 7.6 with Sentinel 2.4.2. I have gone into the Edit Admins under the admin panel and added a user and given him superuser access. He only shows up as a author and cannot add other admin or even change his own admin password. He appears to have full site admin rights except for not being able to add other admins and being called an author. Also when he clicks the Edit Admin button he is taken to a Sentinel page saying he has been blocked access. I am assuming I need to add him somewhere within sentinel but cant find anything.

tnvarmints, You did the first step in that you added him to *Edit Admins*. The next step is to go into NukeSentinel and do a *Scan for New Admins*. You then click on *Admin Auth List* and you should see this new admin there. You need to Edit that new admin, give them a password and then mark them as *Is Protected*.

This will keep them from getting banned. However, I have found that they will not be able to edit their own passwords in either place because they need to be a *God Admin*. You would need to change their passwords for them.

Now, there is a mySQL back-door you could use. Using something like phpMyAdmin, go to the nuke_authors table and select the particular admin and change their *name* field to "God". This will essentially give them full access to just about everything. Are you sure you want to do that??????

Hi Montego and All,

I have just completed a fresh new install of Raven Nuke 2.20.0 (with no 3rd party add ons)

The advise I have quoted above worked for me...Thanks Montego

However I note that while this does indeed prevent the new administration user from actually being banned, a banned message from sentinel is still displayed to the admin user if they click on the Edit Admins icon. While this does not actually ban them, it could be confusing and I just wonder if I have missed something out here or if there is a further fix for this.

I believe the password here is NOT related to the password they would use to log into their administration account and that any changes to the administration account password can only be carried out by the GOD Admin (account). Is this correct?

That is not a design issue, it is a design feature. The screen is displayed in order to let the admin know that the block would have worked if he was not protected. It's there to allow for testing by the admin.
