I have just noticed an annoying problem with my website.
Unless it is another hosting related issue with my remote (Yahoo!) server, I can only think I may have changed an administration setting inadvertently.
Before, akin to most websites, when I tried to open my URL or click on one of my website links, the new page would 'load gradually' and you would see all the individual 'elements' loading and interlaced GIF files 'melt' into place.
However now, when you open my website URL or click on one of my website links, you see the background color only, until all the data has downloaded, then the complete website page displays.
Thanks for all the responses to my posting!!! ...But I have now, by chance, solved this problem myself!
While continuing to work on my website, I noticed that one of the blocks was not displaying correctly.
For those who are familiar with it, I have the Make Poverty History, (M.P.H.), block on my website. There are two parts/displays to this block, one is the block itself and the other is a diagonal banner at the top corner of the web page.
After posting my original problem of 'pages not loading correctly' and slowly, I noticed that the diagonal banner part of the Make Poverty History block was not displaying, (although the main block part was).
I believe that the block does link externally (for data etc), to the Make Poverty History website and so I thought I would try to deactivate the block in case the problem with it being displayed, was related to the problem I previously posted about, (above).
Indeed, when I deactivated the block, everything loaded like lightening and the problem had been located and solved.
So much for 'helping' Make Poverty History!!!...Perhaps the banner should read, 'Make Your Webmasters Life Unnecessarily Like Hell'!!!
