Is there a way to tell how large of a download my home page is?

Large in terms of what? Bandwidth? Bytes? For what purpose? You can look at the bottom of the page and get the server process time. You could view the source after the page loads, copy and paste it into a text editor, and then save it to a file and look at how many bytes the file has.

Saving as text file would not take into account image sizes.

I am interested in bandwidth/bytes. I just want to know how many bytes someone has to download to view my home page.

But you can look up the size of the images, so you have all the parts. You could also look at your server's control panel and see the bandwidth before and after you load your page. You can also look at your server access logs and see all the byte counts for all pages and images returned. You would need to add them up though.
