site will not open with google tap installed

I just installed the 6.5 nuke cops portal and when I try to access it I get

Server error!

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 500

but if I remove the .htaccess i can access the site..

Just for the record, I do not support any of their packages.

Having said that, since this is a .htaccess issue, I'll try to help. First of all, are you actually trying to run any cgi scripts? If so, make sure that they have Read/eXcute (r-w) permissions. Also make sure that your cgi-bin folder has permissions of 755. If that is ok or not the issue, try adding this line to the top of your .htaccess file
Options +ExecCgi

Did any of that help?
