When a person creates a site they try to be unique in every way. From domain name to what they might call their products. When I came up with the NukeWorks.biz name I tryed to find out if it would be unique, did a domain check, tryed diffrent spellings and stuff like that. I found that it was unique so I went with it in Aug. of '04, and like NSN I decied to prefix all my scripts with NW.

Now enter my blues. I just ran across a site called NukeWorkz.com and they just started in Feb '05. Not only that but they prefix all their scripts NW also. So you see my dilemma. Now the confusion can start. I am not really mad 'cause maybe they did know or check stuff out like I did, or something like that.

So my question to you guys is "What the heck should I do?" I mean I was here first I really don't want to change my name but I don't what any confusion and I am sure they don't either. Just frustrating. Bang Head

Is it too much to change the prefix to NWnw (or whatever?) - Have you tried contacting the owner and explaining the dilemma and try to come to a gentleman's agreement?

No I haven't tried to contact them yet I was mainly trying to get a list of options first, and also I think I was blowing off some steam about it. I had just thought about maybe prefixing my scripts something like NW.biz, I also was thinking about contacting them and seeing if they want to be like an sister site or something like that. I guess I felt alittle upset about it, but maybe this is a blessing in desguise.... I guess the best and first thing I shoud do is contact them and test the waters Smile.

I recently had a similar (but not the same) issue. I was surprized how easy things were resolved. That's why I suggested that. I blow my steam off in the background so you never saw it Smile

To be honest I am sometimes one of those people that speak before thinking which does get me into trouble even though I am a really nice guy. Maybe I should have poped off in the backgound, but I think typing it out helped me relax and think things through. I hope everything goes ok, I'll let ya know how it turned out.

Well my dilemma is much bigger then yours.

For more then over 5 years i have a music player called "MP3 Tunes" and a registered domain mp3tunes.nl.
The former CEO of mp3.com has recently bought the website mp3tunes.com ($200.000 was a bit to much money for me)
I've emailed them, i've called them, response ? 0 to nothing, and i exactly know why.

Taking against multi-million corporations is a lot harder.
And my legal rights ? Nothing..
I had to pay 500 euro to register the name "MP3 Tunes" in europe, which i never did cos i didn't have the money.

So now i'm trying to keep ahead with google, but i'm still thinking to register the name in europe.

You beat me for sure DJMaze, but I am behind ya. I don't like it when big business stomps on the little guy because we just don't have enough money to stomp back.
