Trying to install Event Calendar 2.12 onto my nuke site. I dl nuke from here and installed not a single issue.
1. Do I have to upload/replace my mainfile.php, admin.php, and the admin/modules/authors.php files? Do I have to alter them in any way? I am also placing the associated block files in my blocks folder. Correct?
2. I am creating a directory called /www/modules/calendar and uploading everything but the docs, SQL, and the corefiles to my directory per the instructions. It seems counterintuitive to not upload the SQL, but then again, I am new, so what the hell do I know?
I am using the

The calendar shows up when I activate it, kind of. It looks really demented. Size is normal and it looks like it *wants* to work, but I am missing something. I defer to you, Raven and co.

From your description, it seems as if the Calendar folder is not in your modules directory and/or is incomplete. Try ftp'ing the Calendar folder again and make sure the permissions are correct. Use binary for transfer.
No joy, Raven. I set the permissions on my Calendar module directory to 777 just for troubleshooting purposes. I am using WSFTP so I think the transfer method is automated as far as binary is concerned. Do I need to upload the altered mainfile.php and admin.php files or can I keep my original ones, the ones I dl with 6.9 from here?
Right now I am uploading all the files into my /modules/Calendar directory and all I have in the root folder is the ec_install folder.
Do you recommend using ec_install.php as my install method?

I am not familiar with the install. But, if they say you need to alter those files then that's what you need to do. As to the ec_install.php, here again, I can't answer that. I know this is a pretty popular package, so I would assume that it is the install tool to use. You might check with the author to see if it is comaptible with 6.9
