How do I lock out new registers. I want to stop taking members. How can I do that? Thanks. |

CNB Your Account provides that option but otherwise I'm not sure how to do that. Setting YA to registered only would probably lock out everyone? |

Just comment out the 'Register' link in your login box and themes. That will only hide it, but most won't know to try to hard code it into the url. To stop that you could use mod_rewrite to trap those. |

One other possibility would be to point all registration links to the forums:
and in the forum's admin section under configuration set Enable account activation to admin, with this you only approve the users you want. |
