Morning Raven,

currently running your 6.8 patched, with you site nav mod, arnoldkg's Approve_Membership_v2.0 mod, holbookau's calendar 2.12.

Should I stay with 6.8 or is it worthwhile moving to 6.9?

Just curious as I'd like to think the move will cure a curious display issue I have - but only in Nutscrape?!

Any one like to have a look and offer their thoughts?

Don't bother upgrading for features because there aren't any from 6.8 to 6.9 that matter. Here are the changes
Quote:
- By high number of request added the feature to turn off and on the security code's check on login forms
for more details on how to configure it, just check out the config.php file. Default is to use this
feature everywhere.
- Fixed poll edit function to let you change the language in administration
- Now you can have theme specific graphic for WebLinks module title. To use it just add a file
called: /themes/Your_Theme/images/link-logo.gif (Your_Theme = your theme's name Razz)
- Now you can have theme specific graphic for Downloads module title. To use it just add a file
called: /themes/Your_Theme/images/down-logo.gif (Your_Theme = your theme's name Razz)
- Fixed some bugs in languages files (main translation and a few modules's translation files)
- Added a missing translation in Web Links administration module
- Added missing $dbi in sql query in the file contactbook.php (WebMail Module)
- Fixed a bug in Norwegian translation in Web Links Module
- Some other minor cleanups and fixes
- XDMP client removed due to news service shutdown

As to the NS issue, I don't use it so I can't comment much on that. What is the display problem?

Thanks for the guidance Raven, much appreciated.
In NS, the display loses right and left hand columns, everything is displayed in a central column Image and Image are some screenshots showing the problem.
Thoughts would be greatefully received!!!

That's almost always an indication of a mismatched table or form tag. NS is unforgiving but the other browsers usually are. Does it happen with all themes too?

Aha! Nope, just changed to 3d fantasy and all ok - looks like I may have corrupted the theme Embarassed Never mind, I like some of these other themes - I'm going to play!!! Confuse the hell out of my technically challenged members (that'll be 90% of them!!)

Now if I could only get your site info block to work!! I can't get the security code to show?

Thanks again Raven

Is it showing a red x or nothing at all? If it's nothing at all then your server doesn't have GD installed. if it's a red x, then you probaly have spaces/lines after the closing ?> tag in either your config.php or your language file.

Nope got it this time - I don't think I should be allowed to play with these things!! If I read the instructions properly I'd be very happy!!!

Question - it takes the image from your avatar choice - what's the image size (pxl x pxl)? It see's my image fine elsewhere but can't show it in the site info box?

Thanks for your patience!!!!

There is no size limitation. It expects to find the user avatar in modules/Forums/images/avatars.

Oh? That's a bit of a bugger - I currently have my avatars split into folders of modules/Forums/images/avatars/gallery/various folder names with things like Simpsons, Disney etc.
This makes it quicker to load for people on dialup (apparantly there are still some out there!!)
This might also explain why my avatars don't appear correctly in the Site Info box (which is what I asked earlier) as it's looking for the avatar in modules/Forums/images/avatars I presume?
How do I keep the folder setup but enable the site info box (and I presume the Your_Account page) avatar to display correctly?

And it looks like my Sunset theme is corrupted - everything else works fine apart from that one, must get a clean copy.

thanks again, link coming up in my links section - although most of my users probably won't be calling!!!!

The Site Info avatar is for custom avatars only, not the normal gallery ones. In other words it's only for those that get uploaded.
