Well it was there one minute and the next I looked it had gone!

I figured out that it was hardcoded in mainfile.php and so I replaced mainfile.php with the one from the 6.9 patched distribution, but no joy.

Can you suggest where I might look next?

Thanks

Check your php error log or your server error log for a hint as to what might be happening.

I make a poor mans holmes Laughing

In the server error log there are a lot of entries

Code:
Thu Aug  5 15:36:14 2004] [error] PHP Warning:  Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/storebu/public_html/header.php:21) in /home/storebu/public_html/modules/Forums/posting.php on line 399

[Thu Aug  5 15:34:58 2004] [error] PHP Warning:  Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/storebu/public_html/header.php:21) in /home/storebu/public_html/includes/sessions.php on line 251

And the offending lines in session.php

Code:

    setcookie($cookiename . '_data', serialize($sessiondata), $current_time + 31536000, $cookiepath, $cookiedomain, $cookiesecure);
   setcookie($cookiename . '_sid', $session_id, 0, $cookiepath, $cookiedomain, $cookiesecure);

The posting error is a non authorised user trying to post - but should that appear in the error log?

And what's this!!

Code:
[Thu Aug  5 15:51:09 2004] [error] [client 203.203.82.241] File does not exist: /home/storebu/public_html/emailsforyou.php

Jeez Raven - there is all sorts of stuff in my error logs that I need to sort out/look into - missing favicon, old pages missing, people trying for files Shocked

Anyhow - this seems to be a cookie thing - am I on the right track?

If it was working and then stopped, that almost always indicates that you or your host made a change. What have you added/modified/deleted since it last worked?

The last change I made was to reapply the 6.9 patches. Everything is working fine and it has cured a few of the other smaller problems that I had - it is only this admin panel thing that is not working.

This might be a good point at which to move server.

Talk tomorrow.

Thanks
Tony
