and modify it so that it can be used for other submissions... How can I modify it so that it is putting the info in a unique table that I create in the db and not in the News Submissions? Thanks...

Actually let me tell you waht I would like to do.... I run a site for the great game Morrowind and with it comes a construction Set that you can build your own plug-ins to add things to the game.. anyway there are these things called scripts that I am sure you programmers know what they are and folks like to share them. What I did was modify the Sections Module to put scripts there... but what I really want is for people to be able to input their own scripts get a preview of them and then submit them for publishing in the Scripts section. So what I need is a modified something module that will list the scripts by title in the section for which they were intended... did I make that clear? I hope so... Can anyyone shed some light on doing this?

Why not use an up/download module for this? Seems like it would suit your needs well.

If not try submitting the job to nukelance for a bid.

I think the most popular up/down module is the one at nukestyles.com I believe it requires a small donation.

I use this one:

But it hasn't been updated for a while and doesn't allow for descriptions or anything. Also its been flakey on phpnuke anyway.

There are some others but I don't know how well they work at all maybe someone else knows of some? Otherwise there is the forum attachment mod if you don't mind hacking a few files.

Nukelance is here:

I think I would like it to work more ike the News Submission module but not have to wait for the admins to publish it. I would also like it to not oublish to the front page but rather to someplace like the Sections Module. Here is an example of what I have done so far but I would like the user to be able to input their own. Please look here -->

You might check out

for a file upload class and add the feature to the Sections module. Save yourself a little time with that part of it.

It would also be nice to have a photo upload feature for screenshots like you said. The recipe module at

is much like what you are doing less the file upload part. It does have the photoupload feature already.

Still on the same subject. What drives the Category drop down box in the Stories Submissions Administration? Where are these differnet categories entered? Bear in mind this is different than the Topics drop down box...
