installed RN and the normal registration worked fine email went out activation works also but the login does not work properly checke dthe default cookie path and all seems to be normal checked the username and pass like 100x and tried the security thing in caps and lower case to no avail any ideas?

Can you clarify a bit more. Any error messages?

Also please turn on error reporting in the config.php file.

no error message just says "Cant Login"

First do what jakec said about the error reporting in config.php then look at the following.

Try Turing off the CAPTCHA via config.php and see if you can log in.

Also did you use different values for regular and user table prefixes? If you don't know what I am talking about don't worry about it.

Also I sew that this in the RN 2.30.01 forums. If this is a fresh install you should be using 2.4

Ok i fixed it and heres what i did. 1st I uninstalled RN v2.2 and Installed RN v 2.30.0 followed the setup guide (which was the same), now during the forum config i did take notice that the values were the same as when i installed v2.2 but i dont know what happen there but in anycase its fixed and i have turned on the error reporting so if i get another problem it will be on thanks

We would recommend installing the latest version of RN (2.40.00).
