I run a website for a Lotro kin. Right now, my members sign up and are then registered-users automatically. They are able to access the forums automatically as well. I have some forums only available to some other members of the "officer" group.
I also have a raid schedule that is linked to the SQL db, which automatically uses their login information to create an entry for them, and shares the cookie so they do not have to login twice to get to that part of the site.
I want to be able to have a group that will only be able to get to the raid schedule, and possibly some forum threads I will create, while denying access to our regular kin forums.
I have forums set to registered-users only ATM.
What is the best way if any to get this done? I am willing to manually add any non-members who wish to raid with us manually.

I think this has been discussed before somewhere, and if I remember right, no...
A little confused what you are trying to do... You want some forums that are visible to registered users to not be visible to a certain group? If so, you can't undo permissions like that, if view = all registered users then all registered users will always see it.
thats what I was afraid of! I found a mod called pro-forms I may try. It will let me set a group on activation. Then, I will just need to add all my current users and it won't be to much work when approving an application to add the member to a group. Thanks for the info, I wanted to confirm that was the case.
