Iīm a member of many forums and I noticed I got from some private messages from guys I donīt know. This happens and it could be just spam. However, I believe it could also be because the db was hacked.
If so doesnīt a website owner need to make this public or inform his registered users ?
I only was informed when phpBB was hacked long time ago and never got from any other site such useful information what to do.However, I know what I have to do but I find its only fair to inform all registered user if such things occur.
Opinions ?

If private information was compromised, yes, site members should be notified.
