This is both a question and suggestion. The question is: are certain controls under the forums configuration (Forums Admin>General Admin>Configuration) such as "Enable Account activation" and "Enable visual confirmation" and perhaps others irrelevant since this is controlled by RNYA?
I haven't found any behavior changes when I play with these settings in the forums admin. So perhaps if they're not used at all they could be removed in future releases so people aren't confused.

You are correct some forum config setting do not do anything. This will not make it into the 2.4 release as it is immanent, but I will do it for the next release. I have been meaning to do it, but there is always something else to do first.
