Just to clarify, you want to put thumbs.db files on a web server? |

In every image folder in the nuke cms i see a file called thumbs.db I have never asked what it is for or even if it is even needed and by your surprise to the question i am guessing it is something made by the server maybe, not a default file in a nuke cms ? |

It is created by Windows. Looks like you are viewing all hidden files, that's why your FTP program is trying to upload them. They are not necessary for the web server |

thumbs.db is created when you view a folder in windows using the thumbnail or slideshow setting. There is an option "Do not cache thumbnails" under:
control panel -> folder options -> view
checking this will cause your computer to stop caching thumbs.db. Thumbs.db that have been created already will remain there until deleted.
The downside, you may get some slow load time on folders with alot of image files, unless you view folder in "details" or "list" mode (under view menu)
at least thats how it works in XP |
