Hello all,
Has anyone had any problems with the referers block on RN3? I used to use it with older RN versions, now re activated and it does not work?

That block uses the old $dbi layer. I believe it also required some changes in the index.php and a sql file also.

I don't know. The block appears to have been completely removed from RN 2.30.01. I didn't even see the database for referers.

hmm, yeah, if anyone else knows the answer to this?
i have installed google analytics on the site, but i dont think it records the visits correctly, thus wanting the referrals there,
If anyone else knows a better stats engine that works with php nuke im all ears?

Try using nuke sentinel for this type of functionality. I think you need to turn on tracked IPs though.

From what I remember of that referrer block it was prone to sql injection and was basically a cheezy way for porn sites to get some link spam.

yeah, we decided a few functional releases back to remove the whole PHP-Nuke Referrers functionality. We favor NukeSentinel now and its really just for investigative purposes. You do NOT want to post Referrer information out in public IMO for the very reason draxx mentioned.

Also, what about Google Analytics or your control panel stats? These are better for analysis purposes anyways.

Yeah i used the referrers for admin view only, I have installed analyics, but not 100 percent sure its really viewing my visitors properly, seems intermittent
