Can't view my site, but others can... Please Help

Sorry for posting this twice. I didn't really know where to post it. It is a strange issue. My website is crateconnect.net. It seems like when I go to it from laptop #1 it gives me an

"There seems to be a problem with the MySQL server, sorry for the inconvenience.

We should be back shortly."

but when I visit it from laptop#2 it works fine and a friend of mine said it is working. Seems like a laptop specific DNS issue ? Even the homepage is different when I view from this laptop then the other one or what the public sees. I tried release/renew ip, flush the dns, and restart the modem/ router and nothing. Its strange because laptop #2 is on the same wireless network and CrateConnect.net works fine on that.

Anyone have any ideas ?

That error is generally a database connection/server problem. If you had a DNS error, you would be pointed to a different machine. Did you recently move your site? Or are you doing local development on one machine and trying to view the external site now?

Ping your site and make sure you are connecting to the proper server

I did recently move my site from one server to another. The site was forwarded to a website called hiphophits.net. Now it is its own site and I had random little issues since then.

When I ping it. I get a differnt ip address. 203.98.189.60. Which I believe is the old server. The old server was located in Hong Kong and when I type a part of the address wrong. It gives me an error and says the time in HKT format.

Any idea how to make my computer point to the proper site ?

Sounds like spyware to me.download hijackthis and do a system scan and then send me the log file.

I don't think its spyware. I am firewalled and secure. No other issues

I recently came across a little piece of spyware/trojan that blew my mind.I repair computers for a living and can honestly say that it is one of the worst I have encountered.It was a variant of UACd.sys trojan and displayed very similar side effects to what you reported.Maybe nothing, but could be something.

one other thing I could recommend is, if you are using windows xp check to see if you have service pack 3 installed cause it can create similar problems.If you do I recommend you untick ipv6 by right clicking your network connection and going to properties.

You could also try disabling the dns cache. (still assuming you are on windows xp)

net stop dnscache

But in all honesty, most of the time its better just to re-install the OS rather than waste hours trying to source the problem out.You probably could have reloaded it my now.

check your hosts file make sure you don't have an entry mapped to old IP.

It's in windows\system32\drivers\etc

You can also try
ipconfig /flushdns
