Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, please don't shoot me, but move it if it is not.

In theory to me this sounds like it can be accomplished, but I am blonde Wink so I want to run it past the knowledges first Smile

I would like to do a fresh install of RN 2.30 under a domain that I don't use right now, work on it until it's the way I want it ex: correct theme, modules, setup, etc. Then when it is the way I want it, move it to the domain that I really want it to go live.

Possible? or is there a better way?

Thank you so much,

JoAnne

My preference is always to use XAMPP locally on my own PC. It gives you a complete working PHP-MySQL-Apache environment right on your PC. Install RN, do all of your customization, testing, etc., and then when you are ready, you can export all your tables/data from MySQL and move everything up to your production domain.

If the domains are on the same server it should be easy. Just redirect the domain then change the domain in preferences and in the forum admin.

Montego's suggestion is good as well. With his way you will also have to export/import the database also.

Thank you montego and Palbin

I am not at all familiar with XAMPP.

The domains are on the same server.

Would it be better to use a subdomain and then move it to the main domain when finished?
