Hello ,

i would like to make 2 suggestions for this great script, sentinel.

First, the autoban to be a ON/OFF option from sentinel configuration panel. If it is to ON, sentinel to stop the attacker and ban the ip, and if it is to OFF, sentinel to stop the attacker but Not ban the ip.

Second, is compined with the First, if autoban is set to ON, to be an autoexpired ban option, 1 Day, 1 Week, 1 Month or Never, which we choose from sentinel's configuration panel, too.

I think that these 2 things will be very usefull to all.

His Protector System has a lot of features that would be great for this module. Protector Systems has some missing features that are in Sentinel, same goes the other way.
It could be called " Sentinel Protector(tm)"

An other suggestion is combining Sentinel with NSN Secure admin, for maximum security. And of course Raven's HTTP Basic Authentication

The new version of sentinel is much better now. Many congrs people!
I really like the autoban options, "No", "Only mail" and "Block and Mail".

About the autoexpired bans, if ban is set to "block & mail", is in future plans?

Sentinel is the greatest protection script!

A timed ban maybe added later on but at this time we are working to fine tune the blocker responses Smile

it is a good idea the timed ban, because every time ex. i connect to internet, ip changes. So, i ban me now and tomorrow the banned ip maybe another person will have, and he is banned and not me.

So, if there is this feature, we don't have to be all the time online in site to unban ips etc.

That's one of the reasons I usually ban at the second or third octet level. There may be some collateral damage but all it takes is an email to straighten that out.
