Hello

I just read the Credits thanks to Bob,Chatserv,Ganja,Gaylen for meet in a FREE ( Twisted Evil no comment) project for protecting nuke users .

i need help for my newbie questions please Embarassed

installation it says;
only on Apache servers -------------> root/.htaccess (CHMOD 666)
Be sure your .htaccess file
has atleast one blank line at
the end of it.

i think my host has apache ( in c panel info it says Apache version 1.3.29 (Unix) )

1-i have a htaccess file in admin folder ( only says deny from all) in it
2-in Sentinel/abuse has a htaccess (only says allow from all so what means a blank line in it its all emty) in it .will i install this .htaccess to my root ?
3- what is (CHMOD 666)

plase dont lol to me , im newbie Embarassed

thx

Leave all the files as they are and just upload them.

In the text box for the path to .htaccess, just place .htaccess

chmod 666 means to change the permissions on the .htaccess file to 666. Your cPanel and/or ftp client enabes you to do this.

No, you chmod on a unix server, not a windows application. You must have had to change permissions on files before, haven't you? 666 is the same as read-write/read-write/read-write. Does that help?

What do you use to upload your website to your server? FTP client, or built in Dreamweaver FTP?

I had a poke about in Dreamweaver, didn't find any way to chmod files. But then I tried google, and I think this might help:

I would advise getting an FTP client. WS_FTP is good. Cute FTP was ok, until it stopped working on me. Wink

Not to worry Smile. Can you just reinstall mainfile.php from a backup? Or from your original nuke install?

Take it easy on yourself! With so many options, patches, etc., it's easy to get lost! Heck, I even hosed my site up yesterday for a few minutes because I forgot to verify what directory I was in when I replaced a file Laughing Anyway, why don't you PM me your

site url, adminid/pass
ftp url, id/pass
phpMyAdmin url, id/pass

and I will fix it up. I have an errand to run that will take an hour or so and then I will tend to this later tonight. OK?

Hi Very Happy

I have a question about the .htaccess file.

When I add a ip to the .htaccess no one get acces to my site....

The only thing in the file is: deny from 213.87.38.36

Do I have to add something more to it, to have it to work?

(i'm not so god on .htaccess)

Thanks

Are you getting an Internal Server (500) error or a Forbidden (403) error?

and When I turned off Sentinel he got in.

For me there is no problem, just for others.
