Netscape and Mozilla

Hi guys! I have some problems with users displaying my phpnuke site with Netscape or Mozilla.

Here's what they get:

1) Forum scroll block: the scrolling works but words go beyond the table borders.

2) I have a "glow text effect" in javascript which does not work (i.e. see

3) There's blue or green border around some articles photos. I put border=10 because I want text to be far from the images (see see

4) I have some problems with link hover (javascript).

Has anybody got any idea on how to face these issues?

You just have to get use to the fact a lot of java will not work in browsers other than IE. There is cross browser java you can find if you search the java sites, but no simple solution to get what you already have on your site working for Netscape users without totally replacing those bits of js code.

Check around I think with a little work the scroll block will work with mozilla, firebird ect... Its just a matter of using strict html. This just came up at euronuke and they got djmaze to fix it but their block is a googlefied version of telli's (codewiz.com) When I use Opera most scroll blocks are aligned so poorly all I can see is the edge.

4) I have some problems with link hover (javascript).
You might have to rely on the css to change color on hover for the others. Or find a script that was written to be compatable with Netscape at least. Though I think even the glow effect could be done with css browsers that didn't understand it would ignore it but... you'll have to check it out.

I would play with the table sizes, cell spacing. Or you could just open your image up and add some blank borders around it, then there would be no need to mess with any tables.

To be honest, I just don't worry too much what the site looks like in Netscape or other browsers. The vast majority of hits come from IE on my site, so I just make sure at least the site works in any browser. all the cosmetic perfection comes when viewing in IE.

It is easy to make it work the same in any browser when keeping your theme quite simple.

Yeah the scrolling blocks are annoying though when they aren't compatable.
