So I moved and reinstalled(overwrote the files) my site from htdocs/..... to htdocs/php1/......
Now users can't start new topics or reply in the usual way (quick reply DOES work for them).
This only affects users to, as Site Admin I can do whatever I please. I've checked the permissions on certain topics and they are unlocked and open to the public.
Clicking "postreply" as a user takes you to the proper screen, but after typing your post, when you click submit, it takes the user to their account page instead of posting the reply. For anonymous users, clicking the "postreply" button also takes them to the your account page where it asks for their login information.
Not sure that moving the site is the problem........but I figured it was as good a place as any to start the search for my problem since everything else should be a normal setup.
I also think the only security I have installed ATM is the new version of Fortress. Someone reported this problem before I got around to putting in the rest of the security "stuff" out there.
I don't have a problem reinstalling the whole thing again, assuming other reasonable avenues have been exhausted and we're sure that will solve the problem. I mean this couldn't be a problem accessing the database right?
EDIT: Or a permissions thing? I didn't set any permission for the new directories, but I have to leave for work now |

Have you changed your SiteUrl in Preferences and DomainName in Forum Administration/Configuration to reflect the /php1 subdirectory? |

If they delete their cookie cache is it still an issue? Assuming the cookie path from the original site location could be causing the trouble.
Edit oh hi Raven |

Preferences:
Site URL =
Forum General Configuration:
Domain name =
Script path = php1/modules/Forums/
cookie domain = php1/modules/Forums/
cookie path = /
Opened Mozilla Firebird, emptyed all stored cookies. Logged into my site as a regular user but the same problems still occurr.
I should also add that the users CAN login with no problems and do other things on the site like earn users points and up my stats, etc, but no postreply or newtopic. |

After the backup try REPAIR on PMA Database and then I'd run CHECK tables on the remaining databases. Might get lucky. |

I don't think this will have any effect but i'd leave script path intact as /modules/Forums/ |
