Hello all, I did start a post that was mainly about short url`s not working but it was pointed out by montego who has been helping me that the footer on my site is completely missing
At the moment we have no idea why I have re-uploaded stock files,
tried debug information but still no joy
I thought I would re-post as maybe someone I might be able to get a few more leads
thanks for any help all
this is racking my brains
cheers

Could it be a permissions problem with the file footer.php? |

What do you mean ? permissions? the file 644 or you mean serverside?
if thats the case I have another phpnuke raven site running on the same server and all is fine..
as I re-uploaded the stock files is it possible it could be a database side problem? where would I look for anywhere that works the footer database side?
cheers

If this is for the site listed in your profile then I am seeing the footer just fine, though there is an odd character just before the copyright symbol.
You didn't by accident upload the file in ascii instead of binary did you? |

footer.php is working correctly - or at least not a parsing error, it properly redirects to index.php. That means no permission problem, too, at least on that file. The footer text is stored in the nuke_config table, specifically in the foot1, foot2, foot3 fields.
What's in this table? |

Problem is something on the main page. The footer shows up on other pages (e.g.
The problem is the |2es Members block. Disable that and I bet your footer appears... |

Yeah, kguske, that is where I had gone with mrix. I had him try to disable, bottom-up, all center-down and right blocks. The odd thing is that its happening only in select modules, not all of them. For example, Downloads and Web Links do not work, but Surveys, Content and Forums do. Very strange.
mrix, I take it that the other things I asked you to try regarding logging has revealed nothing? |

Oh, and I have already verified that header.php, mainfile.php, footer.php and the related shortlinks code is all OOTB RN 2.20.01.... go figure... Also, he is not using ANY custom_files. |

The ones that work don't have right hand blocks. |

My guess is that one of the right hand blocks has a parsing error - maybe not the one I listed, but one after that in the list. |

We'll have to see what mrix says as I had asked him to deactivate them all in that order one-by-one until the footer issue resolved itself... |

Hi there, I did disable each right hand block one by one, actually I disabled every block and even took the text out of the front page... I`ll have another go though just to make sure... montego I did do the error thing you asked me and the rnlogs are there in the folder if you could take a look when you find a minute, I dont understand them to be honest.
cheers

Stumped...It has to be something with one or more of the right blocks or with how the theme handles right blocks, because on the pages that don't display the right blocks, it works. |

Footer.php also calls center blocks - do you have any of those active? |

Actually montego sugested deactivating the centre blocks yesterday that which i did, I just tried it again and no difference.
I have asked this question a few times now but with no reply ...
why could it not be database related ? if so what parts of the database deal with the theme layout ?
cheers all

mrix, only the right-hand blocks come into play here. Please deactivate all of those.
Regarding theme layout, there is nothing database related. Remember yesterday that I tried this even with the stock fisubice theme and the same issue persists.
I am convinced this is right-hand block related so we need to deactivate those and check again. |

I have had a problem in some themes. When you rename a block funky things can happen. I dont know why this would happen but when I renamed them back to the original everything went back to normal. |
