I am running a home server with Windows 2003. I currently have a website and PHPBB3 running with mssql on it. So, I figured it wouldn't be too difficult to also add a nuke site. haha... After not being successful with getting mssql to work, I added MySQL -still no luck. I have manipulated the config.php in every way possible. When I load the installSQL.php it just stops at config file found. So, I'm sure it is just a configuration problem somewhere. I have read all over that nuke and IIS are not very friendly, but is there something I am missing? Most of this is new to me, I know just enough to get me into trouble;)

Pretty much Nuke hasn't been tested on MSSQL or IIS. My guess is that some of the queries are not MSSQL compatible.

You could try enabling error reporting and going into your error logs, may find something there. But it will probably take some work to do Smile

Avalanche, I take it you are switching to MYSQL? As Evaders indicates the mssql approach has not really been tested. So, if you are using a mysql database your config.php should connect you to it. Please post the database settings in your config.php and maybe a screen capture of what the installSQL program is saying. Even though your home server should be pretty safe you might want to obfuscate the database name and password. What Mysql version are you running? Are you sure it's running when you try to access it? Did you download Mysql separately or part of Xamp or how?

After pulling most of my hair out, I ended up abandoning IIS. I installed Apache hoping it would make my like easier. Wishful thinking... I ended up having the same problem. But, after digging a little deeper, and reading most of the forums;) I found a solution that worked. The funny thing is, I have found so many things in here when I has an issue that I can't remember what it was at the moment. It was adding a line of code somewhere I believe, and I think that would have fixed my original problem too. Thanks for supporting these forums.

Now I need to keep looking for a fix for my security image and site email. The security image won't let new members authenticate. Yet it works like a charm here locally. I have tried adding the line of code I found in the forums, but that didn't work. As, far as the email, I will probably end up setting it up through a server unless I find something in the forums. Thanks again. I'm off to search.
