A friend contacted me today. He says he emailed FB yesterday, and here is the reply he received:

The English is too good for FB but that doesn't mean it could not have been written on his behalf.
For the record, my personal opinion is that if anyone paid him his asking price, they would have to be stark raving mad. It's is open source and GPL licensed so there is no way any new owner could reap back that sort of expenditure on the software itself.
If there is a buyer and part of the deal included ownership of the domain then that's a different kettle of fish all together

under "How to proceed to have the permission?". Wondering if it could be an automated response. If my curiosity gets the best of me, maybe I will send an email and see what happens. As for the subject...
Update: I did a Google search for "PHP-Nuke doesn't belong to me anymore." Found one link to a blog where someone says they requested a refund and received that email from FB. The article is dated October 27, 2007.

I think PHP-Nuke has a new owner!
In the whois information there is a new registrant: Steve Brown from London
(maybe the son from the godfather of soul - James Brown *gg*)
