A Yeti visited my site the first time
Banned via .htaccess because its not clear what they are looking for. I hate content thieves and spammers of course too.
You can ban the bot also through the blocker in NukeSentinel.
Anyone saw this bot and checked his behavior ? The IP is from Korea.
61.247.217.40 - - [22/Nov/2007:06:07:31 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 56528 "-" "Yeti/0.01 (nhn/1noon, , check robots.txt daily and follow it)" |

I've seen Naver, its a Korean search engine bot. So my guess that Yeti may be a new incarnation of it |

He used 3 different IPs from Australia too asked for robots.txt but what I found out about Naver is for me enough reason not to unban Yeti. |

I came across this post and thought I'd ask, if you find someone like that bot trying to get onto your site isnt it illegal? If it is then the evidence will be stored, ip etc to pass onto the law if need be and stop them. Just wondering I'm not experienced to know this lol

There are many "bad bots" and they donīt follow any rules e.g. robots.txt.
There are bots with faked user agent and not well programmed bots as well.
So just ban them whenever you are sure you donīt want give this vermin access to your content.
Law ? Quit joking!
Check this site also. They will be back soon. |

Well surely there has to be some legal protection against people trying to get into your site like this, if you sent someone to try your front door of a house then you would get wrong for it right? Well why should a website be different? It's yours and something that is closed. I know nothing though so i'll shut up lol I'm sure i'll encounter these at some point.

The time will show you the hard reality believe me.
Lets talk about this in a couple of years again. Maybe the world has changed then.
So long ! |
