Ok, i have just gotten a new site, and i want to make 3 nuke subdomain sites with the same user table in its own database, but everything else has its own database.
that way no matter if you visit the main site, or the political party site, or the other sites it has the same users, no multipul registrations. Admin accounts would stay seperated though, its only the nuke users and the unconfirmed users that would be in its own database.
I am horrid at code, so yeah.
Also perhaps teh ability to make CPG-nuke, NSN-nuke and a good old regular phpbb2 forum share the same users table in that users database would be awsome, and having your portal do this would be completly awesome. a bridge between CMS's. I exclude Post-nuke because i hates them, they want the preciousss, evil orcses cant get the preciousssss.
so what do you think of this monolithic idea? Will it work with the portal? Or is there a way that it can be done with the existing systems?

Monolithic? Geez Louise! Now you're forcing people to have their dictionary handy when they're reading posts For those w/o a dictionary, see

Seriously, this idea has circulated a few times and there was even at least one project that got started last year where there was going to be this massive database that ALL nuke sites would have access to have a community user database so you would not have to login as you hopped from nuke to nuke (nuke passport I believe it was being called). I believe it died an early death . I don't know if anyone has ever successfully implemented this monolithic idea. Conceptually, you could/would have a separate database with the 2 user tables in it. Then you would have to modify all code that calls the tables to call from a new connection to MySQL. This idea will become easier when MySQL version 5 is in use. That is when VIEWS will be implemented in MySQL. Hmmm. I need to think on this. I just had a brain f*rt of a possible approach. Stay tuned ....
what about if when you logged on, it takes a snapshot of your main database table, and copies it to the site you visit, and when you leave, it times out and saves what you have done to the main database.
I love the word Monolithic, meaning of one. I figure i used the word correctly. but then again i could just be spewing nonsensical, inconsequential words full of malconformation and misrepresentation.
I do think that the Universal Database should be on a site by site means, rather than a total all nuke. Or if sites enter a partnership. That would be a glorious, grandiose, and in otherwords magnificent addition to nuke. But then again it may be my delusions of grandure speaking.
big words ment to throw people off, i will now develop a new code based off of large seldom used words.
