I am interested in trying to develop an autosave feature like in wordpress or gmail. Submit_Article is great with the new WYSIWYG editor in RavenNuke, but I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas on how to get started on having such a feature.

Thx

The editor within RN 2.10.x is the FCKEditor. You might want to Google around for an already pre-made hack / extension which does this. You may have already done that... It is possible that Kguske will know. He is the author of nukeWYSIWYG which is the particular implementation of the FCKEditor within RN.

Thanks, I found the following link, in the case it may help others. I am going to try to get it to work today.

Wow, that is definitely a cool feature and approach! This would definitely be a nice feature for nukeWYSIWYG. I've folks ask me for a newsletter draft save feature and this might just do it if they are using the editor.

It is very nice, I am currently talking with the writer of ajaxPost to make it more usable in nuke. So far all it does is just post the drafts to the database -- and requires modification to associate it with the user writing it. Also, I am going to write a page (maybe a block) so that one can see his/her saved drafts and continue working on them.

I got it working with drafts being visible and editable in the Your_Account module. Code could easily be moved to a block or whatever.

I had some amazing help from the creator of ajaxPost to get information like the current user saved also -- requires getting to the parent of the FCK editor.

I can writeup a howto and copy my code if there is any interest. I don't have the time at the moment to make it really clean, but I know someone could get it running from a simple howto and my modified files.

Yeah, it might be useful to many actually. Maybe consider hosting a download with instructions as best you got and let others expound upon it... if you are willing of course.

I would think kguske would be interested. I certainly am from a HTML Newsletter tool standpoint.

Alright, I'll try to get something together in the next week. Really busy with the site and other projects at the moment. I am more than willing to let people work on it more -- the base of everything is released open source anyway.

Not sure how I missed this in August, but I'm definitely interested in this for nukeWYSIWYG. Any updates?
