Hey there...

I'm looking for a block that would allow me to input events, format them in a way I've already laid out and then display them in a scrolling fashion so I can have more than just two.

Any such animal?

Thanks,

-Arg

EDIT: I guess I mean a module and a block as I'd need a way to input the data to the database eh.

Comes with 6 blocks I'm sure you'll find the one that scrolls suitable.

Heya...

Thanks, that's a bit much. For various reasons, I use IPB board and use the built-in calendar that comes with it. I installed EC and checked out all 6 blocks. Not really what I am looking for.

This is the look I am going for. I guess at worst I could simply attach some java and still manually change everything in html. Does anyone here custom make modules/blocks?

I see what you mean you just want to query the existing calender.

You can make any block scroll. So what you need to do is take like the forums block and edit the queries to querie the right table and or tables the IB Cal uses.
Change the name of the block and you should be in business.

Which I have no clue about (IB Cal) but thats where I'd start.

Thanks,

lol - looked at that. I could prolly hack it basic, but looping it to order the events and drop old events is beyond me totally. What I am actually looking for is a module where I could:

enter an event
drop an event
display an event in a block that scrolls

Where an event consists of:

What:
When:
Comments:

and is formatted in the style above. Can you recommend anyone that does this for work? I'm not really a coder-type and on my list of things to do and available time, learning how to is low on the list. Smile

I'm not trying to loose a gig here but have you looked at the site that offers the IBtoNuke hack? (I haven't but sounds like something they may already have done).

Hehe...

Well, getting it to scroll was absurdedly easy with 5 minutes of research. I guess in the scheme of things it would be a waste of time to make the module unless if actually interfaced with the IB db. I did hunt around, I usually haunt IBPlanet and I didn't really see anything like that for my version.

Thanks for the ideas tho. At least you prompted me to get it scrolling Wink

Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes Laughing That won't happen on this board. Although I was accused of spamming another well known hard to reach site because I wasn't "loyal" to only suggest links that lead to that site. Putridly sad if you ask me.
