Let me start by saying that my existing banners are showing up just fine, and when you click on the image you go to the correct link.

That being said, I am confused about some things:

1) I still see _BANNER in the Administration Menu section of admin.php. When I click it I go to "admin.php?op=BannersAdmin" which looks like it might be the old admin. It lists my advertising clients, but no current active or inactive banners are listed.

2) When I go to Advertising in the Modules Administration part of admin.php, I get to a page that looks like it may be the new module. It has ha menu at the top "Ads Position" "Add a New Banner" "Add a New Client" "Terms" and "Plans & Prices". It lists current active and inactive banners, BUT all the Banner Names are NONE, and there are no clients. There are no clients listed in the clients section.

SO... It seems that each of these have part of the story. Which one is the new one? And how do I get all the data to show up in it?

Thanks.

BTW: If I click on the Edit link for a banner, I get a new page with "_BANNERSADMIN" at the top, under it is "Edit Banner" with a "|" under it, and a blank form below that.

Hmm I think you may be missing one of the language files. I'm not sure about the new system exactly, did you run the upgrade script?

Yes. With the rndb_upgrade.php, I got the two legitimate errors because I had applied the fix. I upgraded NS on my own because I was coming from .06. The Resend and HTML Newsletter went fine. Every feature seems to be working, but I haven't tried the Dynamic Titles yet.. I've had a few minor tweaks to the shortlinks, but nothing major. The only wierdness is what I describe above.

I have some questions ...
1) Did the Ad data move in the database at all?
2) Where is the Admin supposed to show up? Are all the files now under the module directory?
3) Are there some screen shots of what this should look like?

Thanks.

Interesting ...

There seem to be several tables in the DB prefixed with _banner.

_banner - has several entries of image urls and click numbers.
_banner_clients - empty
_banner_plans - empty
_banner_positions - has 2 records one for Page Top and one for Left Block
_banner_terms - has one record with tags and Introduction at the beginning

I also have a _bannerclient table with my client data in it. It seems to me that this data should probably be in the _banner_clients table.

<later>
OK. I duplicated the data from _bannerclient into _banner_clients and now my clients are showing up in the module screens. I hacked the _banner table to add names so I know which entry is which banner. HOWEVER, when I edit the banner entry, I still get a blank form....

What else needs to be tweaked?

<BTW> I did verify that all the structural changes in the upgrade script were successfully executed to the _banner* tables.

DOH!

OK, so this posting (

) is REALLY REALLY important.

Step 12 in the upgrade guide MUST be done.

Quote:
12. Clean-Up Unused Files - It is also suggested that you compare the core RavenNuke76(tm) script files / directories and remove any files that are no longer needed. Using a good version comparison tool that can give you diffs on directories too, compare your final upgraded installation to the RavenNuke(tm) distribution and analyze any differences (as some may be legitimate - such as add-on modules/blocks). Leaving obsolete script files on the server could present a security hole. There is ONE exception to this. Leave the files in the abuse folder alone.

It looks like all my functional issues were caused by files leftover in /admin structure that were getting in the way of the new files in the /modules/Advertising/admin structure.

As they say RTM
AND do what it says!
