I am using Raven's 7.0 as a clean install, new db etc.

I can't get my TOPIC icon for story post(s) on index page (using the default NEWS module for home page. The small empty block appears (such as path can't find image source). Sad

Another weird thing is that when the "more" button is selected, the module for news is unable to find the article. I have tried several different things, but to no avail.

Yes, the icons are visible in my TOPICS list in Admin, and they also show up in each article in the stories archives. Wink

I don't have this problem yet with any other icons that I am using.

I am running my phpnuke portal through a re-direct on my domain. This has really got me baffled (which doesn't take much).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.....if nothing else, I really wish that I could figure out how to get the "MORE" link of each article to be able to find the contents of the article.

Make sure that the SiteUrl setting in Preferences points to the folder that contains your mainfile.php file.

My site's URL in the preferences is correct (I would think that an incorrect URL would hinder my banner from appearing in my mainfile.php if there was any URL problem, am I right?).

I am still at a loss though..I posted a new story on my site this morning and it has the same problems:

    Hidden or unseen "TOPIC" graphic

"MORE" link on story doesn't find full story page

My topics module - works
My stories archive - works

This has me stumped Embarassed

First, the obvious. Your site is being called from

. That's why they are erring out. That and the fact that you are having problems with the "more" might indicate that your News module and/or theme may have been modified. Possible? Also, try another theme like DeepBlue to see if it is the same on all themes.

Thanks Raven, I will give this a try.

I am lost as to why my icons are being called differently...

I have made NO changes to my News module and Themes....

I will change my default theme and report back.

Thanks for the input Laughing

I tried using other themes and still the same problem.

Then I started thinking about what could be causing the problem with my site trying to find the images and articles (yet they work using the Stories Archives and Topics modules correctly). Question

So, I narrowed it down to the problem has to be in my NEWS module.

I then wondered about what affect the JAVA news feed block at the top of my page may be having (trial and error method of thought). Idea

When I deactivated the JAVA block...the rest works fine NOW Laughing

Thanks for the GREAT feedback, I couldn't have done it without your help.

Hmmm. Didin't you say you made no changes to your News module when I said I suspected your News module may have been modified Laughing

If you need help including your Java (or JavaScript) code, let me know.

You caught me, Raven Sad

I really didn't associate my JavaScript BLOCK as being a change to the module, but I was wrong. Embarassed

If I might seek your advice and support on this matter: Smile

I was thinking about using PHPNUke Tools to create a module for the JavaScript feed to my website. Wouldn't that be the BEST way to go?

The way that I had the JavaScript BLOCK installed didn't work for me, as you well know (and it took up too much room also). Embarassed

Is there something like a Scrolling JavaScript block that could scroll the information that my website receives (through a java script). Something like what your website has for your recent forum post?

Again, I am indebted for your support to my "Old" brain Wink

I do not recommend the phpnuke tools because it uses echo statements and forces you to contend with balancing quotes, escaping quotes, etc. PHP provides a simple and direct method for including JavaScript. See this thread
